Welcome fellow Residents,

I have created this website in the hope it will serve as a platform for us to share information, knowledge and advice with one another. In particular, I hope that it allows us to work together to resolve the issues of high gas bills we are currently facing.

Over the past year I have been reviewing legislation and seeking advice from a number of sources from Citizen’s Advice to the Office of Product Safety (OPSS) and Standards/Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS). The outcomes of these discussions I believe are of interest to every resident.

Have you recently paid for a new water-flow/gas/heating meter?

According to the Office of Product and Safety Standards & the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, you are not responsible for the maintenance of the water-flow meter that is used to measure your heating / gas usage. The Heat Network provider (in this case Premier Estates) is responsible for replacing the heating water-flow meters and ensuring they are maintained and reporting accurately.

View timeline of events

In September 2021, Premier Estates renewed their annual gas contract with a much higher rate than before. The first we knew of this was through two gas bill surcharges, each costing about £230, covering the periods from September to December 2021 and January to March 2022. Upon receiving these in May 2022, we began to compare, noticing our gas bills seemed a lot steeper than what most households pay.

The story from there to now is filled with some surprising twists and turns, and all documented on our timeline.

Community Hub Feature Road-map

Considering the recent gas charges, I believed it crucial to launch the website promptly with it’s abundance of existing resources. While we are in the early stages, there are areas that require further refinement. Your patience is highly appreciated as we diligently work on these aspects. Below, I have outlined the expected road-map of features for the near future.
